With an emphasis on the reporting of Delta State journalists, this study investigates the effects of artificial intelligence (AI) on journalism. The main goals were to ascertain journalists' knowledge of AI tools, gauge how widely used they are in news production, and assess the opportunities and difficulties related to integrating AI. With a survey design that is descriptive, a 495 respondents were selected from among the registered members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Chapter Delta State. Frequencies and percentages were used to display the data. The majority of journalists are aware of AI applications in journalism, according to findings, but Adoption is still restricted because of high expenses, a lack of technical expertise, inadequate infrastructure, and moral issues. However, respondents acknowledged that AI could improve efficiency, data-driven reporting, investigative accuracy, and news distribution speed. The research comes to an end that although journalists at Delta State recognize the importance of AI in contemporary journalism, significant Obstacles like expense, a lack of institutional support, and concerns about losing one's job prevent full integration. The study suggests government involvement in AI and capacity-building workshops, infrastructure and moral guidelines to control the application of AI in journalism.
